A delightful fall escape at Sunset Trail Farm! This little farm in McKinney is absolutely charming. We spent an afternoon exploring their fall events, hay maze, pumpkin selecting, crafts, fun games, and of course sipping their standout blackberry lemonade. The kid activities are plentiful, from duck races to photo ops and small petting animals. Even though my toddler had a meltdown (hey, it happens!), the atmosphere was warm, friendly, and welcoming, and it made me want to come back and do the parts we missed (animal feeding, face painting) next time. The farm is family-owned and leans into sustainable, regenerative practices, especially during their berry seasons. They grow thornless blackberries, limit attendance so the experience isn’t overcrowded, and schedule events like “Date Night at the Farm” and “Mommy & Me” tours to deepen the connection. Some things to keep in mind: buy your tickets ahead of time (they often limit walk-ups), wear appropriate shoes (it’s a working farm), and arrive prepared for narrow roads and a bit of farm logistics. Pets are not allowed, and some attractions may depend on staffing or scheduling. But overall? If you’re looking for that sweet, local, family-friendly farm vibe with beautiful autumn touches and fun for kids, this place is a winner. We’ll be returning next fall for sure.

My wife and I recently attended Date Night at Sunset Trail Farm, and it exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere was beautiful, relaxing, and incredibly well put together. From the moment we arrived, the staff was friendly and welcoming, making the entire experience feel special. The farm itself is gorgeous, especially as the sun starts to set. There were plenty of opportunities to walk around, enjoy the scenery, take photos, pick yummy blackberries, and just spend quality time together away from the usual distractions. Everything felt thoughtfully planned and created a perfect and unique balance of fun, romance, and relaxation! Would highly recommend!

This little farm is so cute! There's a lot of things to do now matter how old you are. The food is delicious and healthier than most food you would find at most places. They sell a variety of fun things in the store, and their face painters are very talented 😤 The animals are so cute and quite friendly! There is a little train that occasionally drives around the farm which is fun and well loved. Of course, there are pleanty of pumpkins of all shapes and sizes. This place is great to get a few good family photos at too! The staff truly cares about your experience here. They are accommodating and willing to listen! Everything is well priced and an enjoyable experience.

Highly recommend this pumpkin patch! My five-year-old son and I had a playdate with some friends here, and everyone had a wonderful time! My son LOVED feeding the horse and the donkeys, doing the rubber duck races, and riding the farm train. There were plenty of activities we enjoyed, including a hay maze, lots of cute photo opps, crafts, face painting, bowling between hay bales, cornhole—you name it! For sale, they had beautiful zinnias, treats like blackberry lemonade and pumpkin muffins, kids’ books and toys, farm merch, and of course all kinds of pumpkins! I loved the variety of pumpkins (different shapes, colors, and sizes), and the prices were very reasonable. And now, all day, my son has been saying, “I love that place. We should go again soon!” I completely agree—we will definitely go back again and again!

5 stars for the black berries and the farm settings, they improved a lot compared to last year. But 1 star for the costumer service. We’ve been aware of the flooding warning in the whole DFW area today, but this farm has been “optimistic” about the weather and didn’t give us refund or reschedule options. It turned out it did rain very badly one hour after the door was open, and flooded. Zero understanding or sympathy, they only got $$$ in their eyes and mind. They see us as money coming to the farm, rather than costumers.
