Ruibal's Plants of Texas - Dallas TX

Beautiful and welcoming. We’re new to Dallas proper (we lived in the suburbs for 6 years, but moved downtown recently) and my 8 year old is autistic and homeschooled. A few weeks ago I took him to nearby Harwood park and asked if he’d go to the plant store with me. I wanted to find a citronella plant for our balcony. Upon arriving, my son stated that it looks like a jungle in the greenhouses and started acting out Indiana Jones while I browsed. I found my citronella plant and he finished his story and we left. He has since, asked to go back to the “plant store” everyday since. We haven’t made it every day, but have made it back several times in the last couple weeks. I’ve really enjoyed it. He acts out Indiana jones, while I follow behind and take down the names of plants to research and see if I can convince myself I can keep them alive. My son struggles with social anxiety and feeling comfortable places, and Rubials has surely become one of his safe spaces lately. The staff is kind and smiles when they see us, and I try not to spend too much time running from an imaginary bolder and booby traps. He has obviously taken a liking to the place and feels safe and unjudged there, and I too feel comfort walking through there and am mustering up the courage to get more plants and create our own little “jungle” for us at home as well. I say all this to say, it’s a beautiful place with welcoming vibes and healthy and thriving plants.

This Ruibals location is the best. The selection is more than enough to choose from. Ask for Alex, he’s the best. He will go above & beyond for what you’re looking for. I came in needing bird of paradise trees for my restaurant hospitality space & he delivered. The trees were healthy & completed the space beautifully. I am a loyal customer & will definitely be back ☺️

absolutely love this plant nursery and recommend it to anyone looking for great quality plants. In the three years I’ve lived in the neighborhood, I’ve purchased more than 50 plants from here, and they’ve all been fantastic. It’s my favorite stop whenever I’m at the Farmers Market! The staff is wonderful, and Mr. Ruibal is such a humble, down to earth guy you’d never even know he’s the owner.

Astounding variety and quantity of flowers, green plants, shrubs, and trees ... and all the accessories, too. Prepare to walk a bit, as you'll probably end up in the wrong "shed." Staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the plants, care, time to plant, and what plants have similar care needs and can be planted together. I'll be back!
