Love the lay out of the place and the concept. I’ve spent $600+ this year alone and have to throw away $300 worth of plants at this point. One is infested with scale, a type of fungus gnat I’ve never seen before, and some sort of aphid or weevil. The other is infested with scale, thrips, and wood boring beetles. I’ve seen evidence of spider mites and potentially mealy bugs on a third, but haven’t been able to locate any just yet. I understand that a huge plant shop may be bound to have pests, which is why I quarantine and treat when they first come home. But at this point it seems like there’s something new coming out of the soil every other month. The entire store is heavily infested. It’s kind of irresponsible to not be regularly treating plants when they’re all close like that. Some of these pests are preventable with simple care, but now two are almost dead due to infestations. I was so sad that they’re closing, but honestly, I wouldn’t buy from here again anyway. It’s not worth the headache and putting my other plants at risk. I have never had an issue greater than basic fungus gnats shopping with Home Depot.

A very unique experience for a plant or nature enthusiast. Located in the busy but accessible area in Chicago, this place offers a wide range of plant types - indoor (even rare aroids and carnivorous) and outdoor, garden supplies & decor, a subset of outdoor furniture and swimming pool supplies. The place is peaceful and prices are very reasonable. The staff are friendly and approachable. The animals are well taken care of. Strongly urge the local community to bring more business to this place so they can continue to support the plants, animals and staff, while also giving them the opportunity to stock newer and more inventory. Help them give back to the area!

Drove 45 minutes to check this place out. Lots of plants ,and some cool taller tree type plants and pots , at first seemed pretty cool then you realize its more of a makeshift store that took over a old FIM or something. Must of left the pool tables and ques and even Christmas trees behind and that stuff been there forever, warped falling apart even a full size pool from earlier years still assembled inside but falling apart. ..Idc its there but in the stuff I've seen written about the store tries to use that for advertising which is kinda false usage. The temp inside the place Definitely seemed alot colder than it needs to be to help the " jungle" the turtles were literally under the lamps to keep warm . My guess they are not paying for heat but i dont really know for sure. We did buy 6 plants . Worth a look see but not what I expected.

Overall, reasonable prices for the majority of the plants. There are great deals in the back!! The restrooms are very clean and tidy. There is enough space and entertainment for the entire family. Highly recommend and will be returning.

Before going make sure to read the reviews, not just look at their stars and rating. This is probably the worst plant store I have ever been to. Most (if not all) of the plants had mealy bugs and looked half dead. I also suspect spider mites on many of the plants. I informed what appeared to be the manager of the mealy bugs and offered to make a deal on some clearance plants with mealies to rehab them but he was not willing to give a fair offer One side of the store was typical houseplants(many overpriced) and the other was a bunch of miscellaneous stuff-pool tables and lights, furniture, full size pools filled with water. We didnt even finish walking around the other side. They also had some birds that were basically caged into a metal and cement box and very clearly were not getting proper care. We drove from over an hour away and resorted to going to home depot for non-infested and live plants it was that bad. They also are offering free plants for positive google reviews to pad their google rating. Edited to add: The plants with the mealy bugs and spider mites were not limited to just the "B" section but in multiple different areas around the store.
