River Berry Farm - Fairfax VT

I love River Berry Farm. They were organic back before organic was even a well known thing. I get my hanging baskets here every year as well as all my herbs, veggie starts, flowers and bedding plants. We strawberry pick here every year. When my son was little I have fond memories of both strawberry and raspberry picking. I love to support local businesses especially when they offer such amazing products. They have a great selection of fresh produce in the fridge as well.

There isn't a fruit or veggie I have gotten from River Berry that hasn't been totally delicious! I have made zucchini muffins to canned relish, tomato sauce (the best I have made!), pickled beets and a bevy of other canning. I have used Kale in salads and in place of spinach on other recipes. The specialty eggplant made fabulous eggplant Parmesan and a wonderful ratatouille! The great eating is endless - but you can't forget Jane's beautiful flowers. My gladiolas have lasted over a week and still beautiful.

This is a very nice farm, with a farm stand and various U-pick options, including strawberries. They grow everything they sell, including plants. Check their web site or FB page for what's available.

My go-to, local, organic farm for bedding plants, perennials/annuals, vegetables, herbs, strawberries now, raspberries spring and fall, and cold crops late fall. Best of all, this CSA let's you decide what to consume, not the other way around!
