What a wonderful authentic Alaskan experience! The Reindeer Farm in Palmer allowed us to interact with many different animals and even a diverse collection of reptiles! The park is lovingly owned and operated by a family who employs local residents, including students, who are all extremely dedicated to educating visitors and providing care and attention to these animals. We spoke to Denise who owns the farm with her husband. Her family is passionate about their work, especially the rehabilitation and life-saving efforts when animals arrive injured or or are deserted at birth. We benefited so much from up- close encounters with these beautiful animals and their terrific employees. Mike drove us on the tractor ride and shared insights and paid careful attention to young guests as well as adults. Dana 's passion for the Alaska and the animals was outstanding. Will, a new employee, urged us to interact with the four-week old baby reindeer told us of bottle feeding those new arrivals in the farmhouse and his connections with the animals and the owners. Birdie helped us to overcome our jitters in the Reptile House and encouraged us to touch the snake she has coiled around her neck like a necklace! Tristan made certain we had plenty of food for the reindeer and showed us how to approach them gently. Andrea and Chris made our ticket purchases and our bit of shopping for small gifts fun and easy. We had a wonderful afternoon, full of beautifully cared for animals and the people who truly love their work and interacting with the visitors as well! Don't miss this a visit to this exceptional place!
Jessica was our tour guide and she did a wonderful job showing us the animals and giving us lots of detail on their backgrounds. We really enjoyed the opportunity to feed and pet most of the animals. Fergus the Highland Coos calf was the highlight ✨ and most endearing!!! 🦬🦙 Let’s not forget Delilah the Great Pyrenees dog. We thoroughly enjoyed this birthday celebration! Besides reindeer, they have elk, yak, llamas, Alpacas, etc, etc, etc!
My wife and I visited the farm recently and have nothing but great things to say about our visit. Located in one of the most beautiful parts of Alaska, sits a reindeer farm that is unlike any farm we've ever been to. They had an assortment of wild animals, alpacas, llamas, moose, cows, etc. We happened to arrive at just the right time and were able to feed most of the animals, thanks to Jessica, a super friendly and knowledgeable employee. Everyone at the farm was super friendly, in great spirits and willing to answer any and all questions asked. We were really impressed and would recommend anyone, who's into animals, to make this trip out to the farm (about an hour from Anchorage). Keep up the great work, and thank you for an amazing experience.
My husband and I visited Reindeer farm and had a great time. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the farm and animals as well as personable and fun. Loved seeing the baby reindeer and you can’t beat the sheer cuteness of a baby highland cow!
I would like to rate the reindeer farm 5/5 stars. However I cannot rate the cafe they had there a 5 stars, I would give it a 1 star. The barista with 17 years of experience couldn’t make me an iced fireweed mocha. The way she came off was very condescending when she let me know that she had 17 years of experience and that I didn’t know what I was talking about. It was upsetting and I decided to go somewhere else that would want to take my money. What she didn’t know is that I was also a barista and there is in fact ways to make a mocha iced. Everyone else on the farm was amazing and so pleasant. They answered all my questions about the animals! I would highly recommend the farm, but skip the cafe.
