Cute little spot to just hang out and have a drink. It's an old rail car that they converted into a tap room. They do have food trucks from time to time so much sure to check their Facebook. They have some choices of beer I haven't seen anywhere else. The gentleman who is her pouring is chill and welcoming. One of my go tos for a relaxing pint with a good view.
Visited the farm stand at Moonstone Farm the other day to buy farm-fresh veggies! The kids gobbled up sugar snap peas and we enjoyed roasted beets and garlic later. They also have a remodeled railroad car tasting room with several local brews on tap including root beer. A large outdoor deck with umbrella covered tables makes for a gorgeous way to spend the afternoon. Hours for both the farm stand and tasting room are Thurs & Sat 2-6pm.
Came for the on-site tasting room and pickled peas, stayed for the deep history and warm family-owned vibes. The Railcar Bar tasting room where you can enjoy drinks from all over Alaska is open 2-8 pm on Thursdays and Saturdays seasonally in the summer (their license lets them operate mid-May to mid-November but they open and close based on the weather, so check their Facebook or Instagram for updates). Their farmers market opens in July (also on Thursdays and Saturdays, from 2-6 pm) and goes until the frost shuts it down in the fall. Again, check their social media accounts for updates on what’s in season.
I came for Farm Fresh vegetables, which are amazing. I also left with housemade Focaccia that was still warm and incredible as well as delicious local root beer. Such a gem!!
What a beautiful place to stop. Traveling north and south on Parks Hiway, this is a family farm that includes sale of vegetables grown in a 12 week season in Summer. There is a beer tasting Raul’s car/ tasting room. Also a Bed and Breakfast. Part of the historical Roosevelt New Deal, this family was a part of the incentive to come out from Wisconsin and live and grow a farm full of produce. Stay 3 years and the land becomes yours. Three generations Dave and Michelle Church are still there and show you what is unique to Alaska gardening!
