Newman's Nursery - Santa Fe NM

I purchased a plant from Newman's Nursery because they were the only place in town that had that particular type of plant. There were two different prices on the plants. There was a sign in front of the plants that said they were $79.00 but all of the plants on that pallet had a tag that said they were $39.00. I did the honest thing and asked a sales person how much they were. He said they were $79.00 but that they often make mistakes in pricing and that I could have the plant for the price on the tag. I thanked him told him at that I actually needed two plants but could only afford one at the higher price so because they are a lower price I would get two. He did not have a problem with that. I also suggested that they correct the price tags on the plants. When I got to the cash register someone else came up and asked me if these were my plants. I said yes and he told me that the plants are $79.00 not $39.00 and he acted like I was trying to price switch the tags. I explained to him what the first person had told me. He said he couldn't honor that so I told him that is fine and that I would purchase one of the plants. When I got up to the cashier she told me, "You didn't get away with it today." I feel like I was treated very rudely. I understand that this is a small business and unlike a large box store they may not be able to honor their mistakes in pricing. I also understand that there is a lot of theft going on in our city right now but to treat a customer that inquired about the price the way that they did is just rude.

I've been shopping at Newman's Nursery for 32 years and have always received excellent service. The quality of their plants is outstanding, and Malcolm has been an invaluable source of advice for my landscaping projects. His staff are also very knowledgeable about horticulture. Recently I experienced the kindness that defines this local nursery. My car wouldn’t start just as the nursery was closing, and Malcolm and Sean checked on me several times while I waited for a tow truck. Malcolm even stayed after closing to make sure I was safe. I’m very grateful and highly recommend Newman's Nursery. It’s a wonderful family-run garden center.

Malcolm the store manager is very knowledgeable/friendly & will point you in the right direction for your Gardening needs. Newman's is the gold standard community gardening resource center.

Been very happy with all the plants I've gotten here. Fruit trees, shrubs and roses have been fantastic. Their soil builder has also helped a ton. I compared the soil builder to the stuff you can buy at Lowes and the plants where I used Newman's soil builder are doing much better. Highly recommend this place. Only downside is they don't have as much as a selection as other nurseries

Not bad nursery. In the past they had plants in their nursery that were covered in pests. Seems they have been improving the place. More organized and more variety of products.
