Bill was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful during our visit. We came in wanting to build a pollinator-friendly garden, and instead of just pointing us toward whatever was trendy, he took the time to explain the actual differences between native plants, cultivars, and pollinator-friendly ornamentals in a way that was easy to understand. One thing that really stood out was how thoughtfully he explained that pollinators recognize plants by things like shape, color, scent, and flower structure - and that whether a cultivar is useful to pollinators really depends on the specific plant. It was such a nuanced, practical explanation and honestly helped us understand pollinator gardening in a much more realistic way. You can tell he genuinely cares about ecology and educating customers instead of just selling plants. We left with a beautiful mix of plants we’re excited about, and we learned a lot in the process. Really appreciated his patience and expertise.
In my visit to Hollandia, I was expecting nothing more than an innocent trip to get some seeds for my dear chicken Hubert. However, this couldn’t be farther from the truth. When I arrived, I made my way to the seed section, and picked out a large bag. Turns out, their prices aren’t so friendly. I had to sell my house and divorce my wife in order to afford the seeds, and now I am in financial ruin. My kids now hate me and only visit me on weekends. I now live on the dirty streets of Bethel Connecticut with my chicken Hubert where we feed on cigarettes and tree bark scraps. Honestly, I couldn’t be happier, and I attached a picture of Hubert in our old home for reference.
I always recommend Hollandia to all my friends who are buying plants, vegetables, bushes, etc. They have an amazing selection of everything, and all in great condition. I hate shopping for plants when they are all dry and half dead (which a lot of nurseries have). Also, the staff is plentiful, helpful and friendly. I am so glad I found this wonderful nursery!
Avoid them at all costs - even more on your landscaping projects. Eugene is an authentic liar - he just want to talk and get your money. We did a pretty large project with them and more than half of the trees either died or didn’t grow in 3 years. In contrast - any other tree we got from other providers around (Planters Choice for example) are booming. If you care of your property and money - avoid Hollandia and Eugene.
When a mistake was made in billing and product size, Hollandia allowed me to return the potting soil without a charge or hassle. Beautiful nursery with quality products and service.
