The best peaches I’ve ever had! Came here last summer and was so worth it. The staff are also very friendly. Such a fun experience and the peaches were incredible. Will definitely be back this season!
Locally owned, the owner showed my daughter how to pick the perfect peaches, he was so kind, very knowledgeable, shared the history of how he started. Definitely going back for many years to come. I loved being able to pick our own fruit.
The staff is very friendly. The terrain is pretty level. (It's still a good idea to wear sturdy shoes, though!) The trees are nice and short (no climbing on ladders) and they have a good variety of cherries. The owner is friendly and knowledgeable. They have a loyalty program. They even have a proper sink for washing your hands after you use the outhouse. "What more could you ask?" you say?l The porta-potty needs to be emptied!
Although long time Boise residents, it was our first time picking cherries ourselves and what a treat it was! We were welcomed by Lance, the owner, who warmly greeted our little humans and escorted two groups out to the orchard. He so thoughtfully set up each separate group with an area for picking, and was mindful about low-hanging fruit for the little humans to pick their own cherries. The orchard was clean and free of mosquitoes, etc. It was a very pleasant picking experience. We had the best time! Lance passed through a couple of times to check on the pickers and make sure everyone was alright. We had our own latter and an abundance of step stools scattered around the orchard. We accidentally stopped by another orchard and noticed the lack of hospitality and warmth by its cashier (area where you pick up buckets for the harvest). We immediately realized what set Gem Orchards apart from others. If you’re looking for clean, delicious fruits and outstanding customer service, then look no further! We harvested Burlatts but we’ll be back next week for other varieties. Tips: Definitely bring something to quench your thirst and snack on to break up all the cherries from overwhelming your gut. We loved eating cherries while harvesting them. We probably ate a couple dozen while harvesting and still managed to come away with 13 pounds of deliciousness. We also brought little beach buckets for our little humans to pick their own cherries. They loved the experience! Also, call ahead to make sure you’re heading to the right location. We ended up at stand #2 but they weren’t there.
Had a great time picking cherries here with the family! The staff were super friendly and helpful, letting us know exactly what to look for and how to properly pick the cherries. They had plenty of buckets, so we didn't need to bring our own; and I forgot our step ladder, but that even worked out since they had some stepstools and ladders available throughout the orchard. It was a great first cherry picking experience, with tasty cherries to boot! We'll definitely be back in the future!
