What a fun farmer's market!! The best one I have ever been to!! The very BEST produce around and it is displayed as if each item was lovingly placed in a special spot. Fantastic selection of jams and salsas and all kinds of things. I bought some E.Z. Orchards Marionberry jam that is so delicious! I also bought Marionberry syrup, and it was divine on my pancakes. They also have fun items for gifts - or for yourself. I love this place!!
High marks because I’ve loved this place since I was a kid which is why this bummed me out so badly. We are a low income family and when we can afford it we splurge on these shortcakes we get the large size every time because it’s a must. This Juneteenth weekend we came to enjoy time at the shortcake stand and paid for two large strawberry shortcakes. No modifications. My partner and I noticed halfway through that we were shorted a whole ice cream scoop. That’s literally one of the best parts. Being careful with our budget I am always noticing when we are being shorted based on what we paid. The stand says a large shortcake consists of two ice cream scoops. Mine was one scoop and an overcompensation of berries to hide the missing scoop it seemed. The line was way too long and busy to try and cut in front or wait an hour to complain. And I couldn’t find who to reach out to about my concern. I went to their social media posts to share my experience and it was unanswered. I’m not sure how to complain about the girls there shorting me and possibly more people there that day a scoop of ice cream when we paid for two so I’m just gonna leave this review here.
Was in the area running other errands and drove past the market at a random 4 way stop. Decided to pull in on a whim and could not have been more delighted, my only regret is not having my wife with me. But seeing my opportunity I decided to go for the peach shortcake at the stand outside the market, and let me tell you… nothing. Go get one yourself, it won’t disappoint. And don’t forget to go into the market after, you can get some really good fruits and veggies, pickled goods, sauces, and so many other odds and ends it’s hard to decide. My only decision after all this is to bring my wife back to have her own exploration.
The line can be small and massive and it doesn’t move very fast but it’s 100% worth the wait!!! The large shortcake is incredibly good!!! I loved every bought it is worth the money. Just make sure you buy two because one is not enough!!! Then once you’re done there go inside the market. A lot of good things in there but it can be a lil pricey on some items.
$8 for this paper thin slice of dry cake. What a joke. The shortcake stand is usually good but today was a disappointment. I also tried the gingerbread cookie which was decent sized for the price but did lack any flavor besides the ginger. They were handing us our hot food and drinks over the heads of other customers, made it awkward for us and seemed very dangerous. Overall, not impressed with today’s service. *edit to add that I can afford the yule log slice, that’s why I got it. The problem is there was no transparency with what we were going to be served. The slice was laughably small. You can’t see any decorations because the slice is thin. I added a photo of the menu items + prices because some were reasonable. I didn’t review them because I didn’t try them. Implying I should’ve purchased something better suited to my budget is distasteful on the Market’s part when I have spent years supporting them monetarily through purchases. Ridiculous.
