Bountiful Gardens - Hillsborough Township NJ

Really beautiful nursery with a wide variety of both native and non-native plants. They're experts who will happily give advice and now we won't go anywhere else, happily making the 50-min drive south from Essex county. Oh yeah, and they have a frequent shopper program too!

Bountiful Gardens in Hillsborough was recommended to me by a friend. When I took the recommendation, I was primarily concerned that the nursery have a wide variety of plants to choose from. As it turns out, the selection at Bountiful Gardens is huge. Just as importantly, I wanted advise about redoing the small garden plot in front of my townhome. And I am pleased to report that the customer service at Bountiful Gardens is every bit as good as their selection of plants. From the moment I started talking to Dan Ilkow, their Landscape Designer, I knew I was in good hands. Although modest in terms of size, I wanted a total makeover of the garden. Once I spelled out my needs, I received the time and attention to detail that resulted in a very successful project. Dan's education in horticulture allowed him to provided sound advice regarding the choice of plants, the layout of the garden and the various options available to me. Throughout the process he was excellent in communicating the steps involved and their timing. The team they sent to do the work arrived on time, worked efficiently and before planting anything verified the layout. As a bonus, Dan actually checked in with the crew remotely during the work and had them send photos to make sure that things were being done correctly. The result was exactly what I wanted. At a time when the rule of thumb is that good customer service is in very short supply, Bountiful Gardens is a wonderful exception to that rule. I recommend them without hesitation and will be using them for my own gardening needs in the future.

This is one of my favorite stops for gardening. What don't they have? You can spend as much time as you like gathering your new selections on a cart while listening to classical music. The music pairs perfectly with contemplating what you will add to your garden. When I visit, it's always a wonderful day out with so many people who share a passion for the plant life. And the people working there are so committed to keeping everything looking fresh and beautiful.

This location has a great selection of native plants as well as trees, shrubs, and so much more. I went for an event by the NPSNJ and was so inspired to make a pollinator garden that I worked with Dan on staff to design one. He was extremely knowledgable and we worked together to pick plants that would both attract pollinators but also ones I personally liked. I had them delivered and installed them myself. I also went back a few times to buy plants outside of this project and I will definitely continue. They also have one of the most engaging and educational newsletters and their social media accounts are fun too!

Bountiful Gardens is my "go to" nursery. When I decided that I needed to start fresh, Jasmine helped me plan beautiful flower beds. She patiently adjusted plans as I was able to visualize the designs she created. The three crew members who installed 12 evergreen trees and dozens of perennials were fantastic. They laid out the design, made adjustments and gave great advice for transplanting hostas and other established plants. I highly recommend Bountiful Gardens!
