Berry Island Farms - Gilroy CA

We came for berry picking on Saturday morning and loved the variety of berries! It was early June so they had 6 types of berries available. It was fun trying new berries I’ve never heard of and ended up making berry jam with half of them and ate the rest fresh. They had plenty of strawberries and blackberries but it was the end of season for raspberries so only picked a dozen of them. You pay for what you pick - $5/pound for strawberries and $10/pound of other berries.

Great place for berry picking, although today it was all about the strawberries as most of the berries had already been picked. We got 10 pounds of delicious strawberries. We were lucky that it wasn't too hot, got there around 10am.

Strawberry's & cherry tomatoes are extremely tasty. People there are very welcoming and friendly. Don't know what days are best, blackberries and raspberries were all gone.

Love coming here! We've come three years in a row, and it's always great. This year, our 2 year old was especially excited they allow tasting, and our 7 year old did a great job actually gathering berries. I love how it's a pretty small place, yet has several different things to pick, so the kids don't get bored and we always end up with a great haul. The harvest is naturally somewhat weather dependent, especially the raspberries, which have been pretty sparse. But every berry is absolutely delicious, and their local honey, and their jams and other produce are great, too!
