I really enjoyed the tap room for lunch—highly recommend the pulled pork sandwich. Afterward, I took a quick stroll around the area and stopped by the market to pick up some delicious jams.
We stumbled upon Lookout Farm last Memorial Day weekend. We were up from CT for the Needham Memorial Day soccer tournament. Throughout the entire weekend - we stopped three times to eat. We were back again this year to the tournament and we were so excited to make our way back to Look Out Farm. The atmosphere, food, and especially the service are amazing. We wish we had better weather and more time to explore because the property is gorgeous. Great place, great food, and great people!!
We did a quick stop to get some apple cider donut ice cream sandwiches. They were delicious. Maybe soft fresh donuts would have been better but, still tasty. Also, ended up getting some hard ciders and regular apple cider. Super cute area that was decorated for the October/fall season. We did not go apple picking but, did hang out on the benches and listed to some live music. All together a great time and a little more than we expected.
I had a lovely time apple picking here. The apple varieties were delicious, crunchy, and juicy. Great for making apple pie afterwards. Also had some of the apple cider donuts which were a delight and quite big. There's plenty of places for kids to play and also places to grab a bite to eat. Yes, it's a bit pricey, but that's what you get going to one of the farms closest to Boston.
Lovely experience and well worth the cost of admission! We were hesitant about visiting based on some of the other reviews describing the cost:experience, but I am beyond delighted to have come to Lookout Farm this weekend! The bags that they give you do *seem* small, but I am looking at our haul right now and with two bags we have 18 peaches, 11 apples, and 3 pears. This was filling the bag full and to the handles but nothing as obnoxious as some of the other collectors we saw leaving with their arms full of fruit. 32 pieces of fresh fruit grown on a local farm for $50 is not obscene by any means. That's essentially $1.50 per piece of fruit. I think many could do well to evaluate other items that they spend equivalent or more money on before poopooing a local business full of friendly staff, beautiful scenery, and a serene atmosphere. In addition to fruit picking we had fun wandering through the corn maze and around the property seeing the old farm buildings and machinery. We stopped to eat at the restaurant once we finished picking our fruit and I was also pleasantly surprised by the menu options and costs. We had a peach smoothie and chicken tenders for less than $20. Fenway Park can only dream of such a value. Overall, this was an awesome experience and I am so happy to find such a sweet little spot tucked just outside of the city. I will definitely be coming back!
