My sister and I came to Oxford to visit my son and daughter-in-law, who both work at Ole Miss. We had a wonderful, relaxing time at The Barn Loft, being surrounded by very clean accommodations, beautiful grounds, handmade furniture, art and antiques. Robert was a very gracious host, checking with us each day to see if there was anything we needed and making sure we were enjoying our stay, yet was never intrusive. It was so peaceful and quiet on the farm, and close enough to downtown Oxford that you could be there in less than 10 minutes, yet you feel away from all the hustle and bustle. John Brown, the Basset hound, was a true sweetheart, and always welcomed us home each time we returned to the loft. The fresh fruit and muffins each morning were delicious as we watched the sunrise from the windowed upstairs porch. I would highly recommend The Barn Loft and hope to return soon!
The Barn Loft was a perfect oasis in every way. It was comfortable, inviting, extremely clean and orderly. There was a fabulous view of the beautiful farm from a wonderful screened porch, complete with an antique coal/wood free standing stove to sit beside. Robert was a lovely host. He offered an array or delicious fruits and muffins as well as cereals for breakfast. The Barn Loft is just a view miles from and easy access to the center of Oxford, so it is perfect for game fans and visiting professors. Thank you Robert for a wonderful introduction to Mississippi. Simply the best in Oxford. Willowdale Farm / Barn Loft Bed & Breakfast is a perfect, relaxing oasis in Oxford, MS. Serene farm surroundings, beautiful furnishings and delicious baked goods. Everything has been thought of and executed perfectly. Robert hosts a fantastic bed and breakfast along with his sweet hound John Brown. Life’s stresses will melt away the moment you walk through the door!
Heaven on earth! The quiet and peaceful setting amidst green meadows, blooming trees and flowers, quacking ducks on the pond and frolicking goats and chickens sets the scene for the perfect vacation. We stayed in the upstairs barn: a very spacious living area with some of the most gorgeous hand-crafted wood furniture I have ever seen. I fell in love with the buttery soft cherry and maple Windsor chairs in the kitchen- every morning I perched in one feeling at peace with the world as I drank my fresh- ground coffee and savored the the fresh pastries and strawberries that Robert had just delivered. Later in the day, before going out to dinner, we reclined in the cool of the sun lounge that overlooks the pond for a glass of wine and freshly prepared appetizers that Robert had provided. We want to stay here forever. Thank you, Robert, for sharing your magical place with us. We’ll be back.
Great down home getaway! Don’t miss Robert’s bassethound John Brown!
