So happy we stopped by! This was a stop on a very long drive and we were so thrilled by the collection of hot foods, cold treats, canned items and sauces, fresh produce, and toys! We loved the little samples and staff was incredibly sweet. We tried some candy, hand pies, peach cobbler, and peach ice cream. Everything was great! Bathrooms very clean too. We'll be back someday!
I peach season, this is busy place. There seasonal peach shake is deliciously cool and refreshing. The shake alone is well worth your drive. There pies looks and taste like home cooked pies. Seasonal fresh sweet peaches are sold here as well. IT IS A PEACH BARN. Cheese Burger: It is NOT a fastfood chain style burger. The cheese burger is tasty and very filling. Cheese burger and shake are my favorite. Highly Highly Recomended!!
For ice cream, there is only peach and vanilla, but obviously you have to get the peach if you come here. You can tell the ice cream has been freshly made. It's not too sweet and it's light and creamy. I got the sundae, which I think had extra peach jam on top. It was delicious and you can clearly taste the peach.
This place is great to take the family, great food and other products like their different array of fruit and sauces.
We were on our way to St. Joseph Missouri from Texas for St. Joseph RetroCon. We decided to stop at the Peach Barn after seeing a couple of billboards after entering Oklahoma. It was easy to see and exit from the highway and there was plenty of parking with compact parking up front and larger parking spaces available in the back. There are two entrances. The one on the right will take you to the bakery and the cafe where you can order lunch which consists of burgers and sandwiches and some baked goods like hand pies and cookies. On the left side of the store is the General store where you're able to get fudge, candy, pickles and others goods as well as fresh produce from local farms. We ordered the peach barbecue burger and the peach barbecue chicken sandwich along with a peach hand pie and a lemon hand pie. It took about 10 minutes for us to get our food and the service was excellent. When we received our food we asked the person more information about the restaurant and she told us that they currently hold the Guinness world record for baking the world's largest peach cobbler and that you could go into town and see the oven still standing. The barbecue peach chicken sandwich was awesome The smokiness of the grilled chicken really complimented the peach barbecue sauce. It came with lettuce and tomato as well as pepper jack cheese. The burger had the same toppings just with a hamburger patty. The patty was juicy and the chicken was tender. All in all both sandwiches were enjoyable but I would recommend the chicken over the hamburger. The hand pies were about the size of your hand and filled with a generous amount of filling. The crust was tender and flaky without leaving an oily residue in your mouth and the filling was sweet but not overly sweet. We did sample some of the many samples around the General store including the fudge and some of the sauces and the popcorn. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, the facilities were clean and they had a good selection of local products. It's a great place to stop to grab a bite to eat or a gift if you're in the area.
