Buyer Beware: Zero Accountability Once They Have Your Money If you are considering using The Bruce Company, be prepared for great sales pitches but absolute negligence the second the installation crew leaves your driveway. We closed on our brand-new home in September 2025, and the arborvitae they planted was already completely dead the day we took possession (as you can see in image). It wasn't shocked; it was a crispy, dead stick. Nearly a year later, I am still staring at this eyesore because our account manager, James Wagner, completely checked out. He has been dismissive, entirely non-responsive, and has ghosted a patient customer trying to get a simple warranty replacement. The lack of quality control didn't stop there. Their team installed our grass irrigation system but completely forgot to turn on the main water supply valve, leaving a brand-new system totally useless. We had to diagnose and fix their oversight ourselves, and when we brought it to their attention, they offered zero compensation or care. A company’s true colors show in how they handle mistakes. Leaving a client with dead landscaping and an inoperable water system for a year while your account manager ducks calls is pathetic service. Potential buyers should look elsewhere if they value communication and getting what they actually paid for.

We went to The Bruce Company seeking water lily’s for our pond, and an assortment of other plants. We were pretty excited to go, thinking we would find some unique and beautiful plants. What we found were several particularly unfriendly and unhelpful staff members and a rather sad looking water lily for $50 (which we bought). As a gardening store that promotes itself as somewhat high-end and has high-end prices, it blew goats for quarters. Thumbs down.

When we got our Veridian Home, Bruce Company did all the landscaping. They did a great job on the consult, education, and follow up. Unfortunately, our tree died a couple times within the warranty period so Heather came out to the house to diagnose and get a new tree in. Heather is absolutely amazing, extremely knowledgeable, and caring. The process would have been much more frustrating without her. Our flower beds turned out great too.

Wonderful store with an amazing and friendly staff! They welcomed our Tri-City Garden Club of 40 people with open arms, snacks and helpful assistance! We had a wonderful time and they have a wide variety of beautiful and unique plants! 🪴

Veridian and Bruce (Heather) and I walked the landscaping. There were 7 plants against the house that Bruce replanted because the initial planting was poorly completed. Visually, you can see they are not surviving from a planting a year ago. I pulled up 2 dead plants because we wanted to plant vegetables. Heather had the audacity to say that the existing plants “needed fertilizer and water.” Yet the plants in the same bed, directly in front, are thriving. Then she disputed a washout saying the black drain hose was attached under “the fence and someone detached it.” There is not enough space to put a black hose under our fence. The gentleman with her seemed quite understanding but Heather would not see the truth. This is not the first time she has been condescending and lacking empathy. Her customer service and delivery is poor. She is going to continue to taint your reputation over a few plants and a wash out that is clearly in question. It’s a shame that Bruce doesn’t value the homeowner. What I have discovered is that NO ONE - including other vendors and homeowners - believes in her skills and have shared similar stories of her poor CS and unfounded claims. I only asked for a few replacement plants that Bruce planted a year ago and a minor wash out repair. In fact, Bruce is coming back to fix an area of grass that was damaged by a construction power box. It would be so easy to fix the wash out. I will continue to share my opinion to anyone who will listen. Hello Owner, your “canned” response to “contact my project manager at Veridian” is interesting since this has nothing to do with them but I expected nothing less after reading your responses to other reviews. Also, your team came out again to reset a couple of boulders that had settled. They didn’t put them in the original spot and now the side of my house has a dent and is exposed. When asked why they didn’t replace it in the original position they said they “didn’t want to get too close to the siding.” Doesn’t that seem a little odd? I wish Bruce Co had a little sincere empathy and do the right thing. Each house is worth thousands to you. What if it were your home?
