Shanholtz Orchards - Romney WV

We had an amazing time cherry picking at Schangltz Orchards! The staff were incredibly friendly and the orchard was stunning. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish.

We purchased peaches at thier roadside stand in Oakland this past Saturday. We were told that they had been picked two days before on Thursday. By Monday more than half them were rotten and inedible. Will not buy from them again.

We always get peaches/apples from Shanholtz Orchards every year when we visit from NC. Last year we got there too late for peaches but did get some delicious gala, pink lady & honeycrisp apples. Hope to get there in time for the peaches this summer.

The family owned/operated Shanholtz Orchard is more than worth our drive from the South Western West Virginia coalfield area; They run a class act operation' organized, clean as a pin and the best ":hand picked" fruit selection in the mid-Atlantic area. Everyone that works at Shanholtz Orch. cares that you well taken care of; great family that I'm proud to call friends.

I bought 2 bushel apples from a man at the end of jersey mt road. He told me he bought his apples from shanholtz down the road. The apples were horrible. Soft. Brown inside. I called the orchard and the woman that answered at shanholtz said the man didn't get apples from them. Which I know he does been buying there for years No one wanted to accept responsibility. Simple thing should have been to replace my apples. NEVER go there or the orchard again.
