Reviews
This greenhouse has some great options of trees that you can't find at most other greenhouses. It is a hidden gem to come shop at. I particularly like the mini lemon trees. Parking is a little unusual. The signage to find the greenhouse could use some work. Both my mom and I passed the entrance by accident.
I always have a great experience at this greenhouse! The plants are healthy, beautiful, and clearly well cared for. The owner was especially wonderful—so friendly, helpful, and incredibly knowledgeable. They took the time to answer my questions and share helpful tips, which I really appreciated. I’ll definitely be back!
It is a bit odd to review a local Alaskan greenhouse in the middle of winter but stick with me. Mile 5.2 in Eagle River is an oasis anytime of year but on a freezing, gray day it is an oasis in heaven. Bright, warm, green and Jasmine/Lemon blossom fragrant it could only be better if I were visiting in my robe and slippers with a mug of coffee in my hand. The abundance of flourishing fauna ensures you will walk out with something that encourages a green thumb and wide smile. For me it was Oregano plants. Between their herbs, flowers, succulents, air plants and signature potted fruit bearing trees, there truly is something to appeal to everyone. They also sell a line of incredibly yummy fudge. The owner is unbelievably knowledgeable about everything rooted in soil and genuinely enjoys helping with advice, so don’t hesitate to start up a conversation. Spring 2022: Starts are out and they have so much to choose from. And local honey…including 100% Fireweed!
A gardenia was purchased ($150.)for a gift. Not knowing anything about plants he was sold a very sick plant with root rot and a fungus. The person receiving the plant , is almost a master gardener and realized it was a very sick gardenia that would probably not live. I called and spoke with Darrell, who said they do not stand behind their sales. I told him I have pictures of the plant and not one leaf on the plant is healthy looking and should be returned. He said they have 6 gardenias and they are all healthy. Yet the gardenia purchased was the best out of all of them! Pictures that were taken the evening of the day the plant was received tell the true health of the plant! No wonder they do not stand behind their sales they are selling inferior plants that will not live. They took advantage of the person buying it for a gift who did not know anything about plants. He was excited to find a gardenia for a gift, and relied on the greenhouse's honesty in selling healthy plants.
Very enclosed, and multiple plants infested with aphids. Very sad because it was a very beautiful greenhouse.
