I had a great experience at Meadows Farms Nurseries. The selection of plants is excellent, with everything from seasonal flowers to mature trees. Excellent plant quality, great selection, and very helpful staff. Clean, organized, and reasonably priced. Highly recommend!
I came in inspired and excited to finally landscape my dream home. First, I went to a nursery (Lake Ridge) and the selection left me desiring so much more. When I arrived here, I saw the lavender plants that I bought years ago. I bought them as little plants, and by the next year, they were over 4’ wide and tall. They took over my flower bed…I needed them in my new home. Yes, I bought all 10. But then I needed something tall and a Christmas tree because dreams… Tonya saw me looking confused and came to my rescue. She helped me Pick out plants that the disrespectful deer won’t make a b-line towards that matched my desires. I’m super excited to get them in my flower beds. Thank you again Tonya and the guy that helped me load all this stuff in my trailer. Also, the prices here are quite good. I came in EXACTLY where I budgeted today.
Went out early December to find a Christmas tree. Meadows Farms had all kinds of choices in size and type and we ended up purchasing Hammy. Staff was great prepping Hammy for the ride and Hammy made it home in one piece. Kitty approved too!🐾 Great experience. Recommend for trees, wreaths, plants.
Can’t recommend this location more. I’ve had a lot of positive experiences with many of the Meadow Farms locations, but this by far has been my favorite. I had such a fabulous experience working with their team to determine the best mix to fill my raised beds. They took the time to calculate things out based on my sq footage, and the staff was knowledgeable, patient and really knew how to setup my garden for success. I’m so excited for the spring season! Thank you thank you thank you
My family and I have been customers of this nursery since 2014, primarily for flowers, shrubs, trees, and landscaping projects. A recent experience left me very disappointed in both the customer service and the guidance I received. I recently began vegetable gardening and purchased two, six foot long raised garden beds. On May 27, during the Memorial Day sale, I visited the nursery to purchase vegetable plants and seeds. Since I am relatively new to vegetable gardening, I specifically asked an employee at checkout about using straw to help retain moisture in my garden beds. I was directed to purchase a bale of straw/hay sold outside. After planting my vegetables and seeds, I spread the straw as recommended. Yesterday, I noticed numerous sprouts emerging throughout the beds. At first, I was excited and assumed they were the seeds I had planted. Unfortunately, I later learned that many of these sprouts appear to be growing from the straw itself. When I contacted the nursery, the manager confirmed that the bale I purchased had not been treated to prevent germination. He also explained that they sell a different straw product inside the store that has been processed specifically to prevent this issue. This was never mentioned when I asked for advice on what to use in my vegetable garden. What I find most frustrating is that I sought guidance from a business that specializes in gardening and landscaping because I was new to this type of gardening. Had I been told there were two options available, and that one could introduce unwanted growth into my garden, I would have purchased the straw. Instead, I am now left trying to identify which sprouts are the vegetables I intentionally planted and which are coming from the straw. What should have been an enjoyable first gardening experience has become a frustrating and time-consuming project. The manager eventually offered a package of the processed straw, because I asked, but that does not resolve the time, effort, and uncertainty already created. More importantly, it does not address the fact that proper information was not provided when I specifically asked for advice. We have supported this nursery for over a decade. However, knowledgeable guidance and customer service are exactly what customers should be able to expect from a business whose expertise is gardening and landscaping. We will not be returning and have shared this experience with others so they are aware.
