lyman orchard strawberry field - Middlefield CT

The gps makes it easy to get to the specific picking areas for strawberries, honey berries and raspberries. We went on Thursday which was not too crowded but it was busy. There is plenty of parking on the grassy areas close to whatever fruit you are picking. The strawberries were very small despite being advertised as medium. They were almost flavorless and were not sweet at all, most were sour. It was my first time trying honey berries. They were good. The fruits are in between the bushes so you will have to dig through. The raspberries were plenty. They were not as ripe and juicy as expected as most of them were just turning color on the bushes.

What a wonderful place for the family, or a first date. It was such a blast hand selecting my own berries. It’s $8 for a quart and the sunshine is free .99!!

We had fun picking strawberries first time in our life. If u dnt like strawberries, the beautiful landscape in the huge valley will make you refreshed. You will see shadows of clouds on the hills around you. There were honey berry picking as well. The buckets they offer for picking starts with $8 . No pre-booking required. We have seen other berries growing faster to welcome us next weekends. Kids will just love it.

Great place for pick your own fruits like strawberries,apple and pumpkin . Golden yellow apples are juicy and delicious. Apple barrel has good selection of salsas. The orchard is picturesque too
