Kingsdene Nursery & Garden Center - Monkton MD

I have been procuring live plants and Christmas trees here for about 34 years! Kingsdene is a family tradition for us. My Dad stopped being in one place in 1996. Now my son and I can feel his presence when we come shopping for a fresh Christmas tree each year right after Thanksgiving. Then we keep its base in water until it comes inside to be a celebration of trees for Christmas. Typically, it stays soft and fragrant until the end of January, at which time I cut all the branches into 6-8 in pieces which I use to start fires all year. Also, I pack a cardboard box with the smaller pieces and loose needles and store it in the truck to freshen up the cab and remind me to smile.

This is a lovely place nearly to Monkton on York Rd. Its small quaint but has all the essentials. I went by today was so glad to go today and get exactly what I was looking for. Lots of variety. Strong large plants!

Jane and staff were nothing but lovely and fantastic to deal with! I live in NJ, and they not only had plants in stock in August that would be perfect for my garden in Bernardsville, NJ, but they offered plants I can't find in my own area. I will not only be back to buy stock from them, but I will take time to go through the items they have inside as well. I was very disappointed today with Kingsdene Nursery especially being a long time customer. I'm a local resident and strive to give my business to companies in the area. I purchased a seasonal item for $14.99 from inside the store a few days ago and the store clerk remembered me purchasing that item...I just wanted to exchange it for flowers and did not want my money back..The store clerk said I needed to return with the receipt before any exchange could be processed. .Although I understand every store has its policy, I do feel an exception could have been made since im a regular customer and wanted to buy my Fall flowers for an amount that would have exceeded the cost of my return. Putting store policy over a long term customer relationship..not smart! Just lost a loyal customer.
