Jackson's Greenhouse - Topeka KS

I have come here for years and really loved it until about a month ago. I was in to buy a couple of plants and went outside to get a plant to bring in for purchase. When I came in the front door I saw a red wasp inside flying towards the front door to get outdoors. Since my presence threatened the red wasp it stung me on the wrist while in the doorway as I couldn’t move quickly enough to get out of the way. This was the wrist that was holding the plant and almost dropped it do to the pain. I did unfortunately cuss because the sting was right in my vein when it happened. Everyone seemed to stop and stare but only one worker jumped into frantic action. She wasn’t for sure if she could locate the First Aid kit. It seemed that both the owners were busy with customers at the time of the sting and went back to their discussions. I was clearly in distress and no one seemed to care. I stood by the counter crying while waiting to pay for my plants. I wanted to get out of there as I didn’t want to get stung again. While waiting on the worker to get back the owner who was currently checking a customer out said if you hold on just a minute I will see if I can get something for that. I was in pure shock that money was more important then something that was almost an emergency situation for a customer. In my head I said Ya lady let me hold my pain while you get your money from your transaction! At that moment when I realised that all they wanted was money I was done. I payed for my plants and will never return. We work hard for our money so being treated poorly really feels bad! Fun fact: Red Wasp stings are among the most painful stings on the pain scale. Once a red wasp stings it releases a pheromone to alert other red wasps in the area to attack. So I’m sure others were stung that day in their front door. Hope these owners take into consideration the safety of their customers for the future. Good luck and God Bless!

Great selection of house plants, customer service was amazing. I was told when to expect some of the newer plants that they will be potting and releasing soon which i had never been told before at other greenhouses. Amazing way to get me to come back!

Two apple trees, a black cherry, and an apricot! I like the old-time feel and the fact that the owner took the time to tell me about the history of the place. This place has deep roots! I'm replacing an ancient apricot that succumbed to high wind and also just adding to the orchard. Never had a "sweet 16" variety apple, but here goes! I've never bought trees from here before and the one year warranty was a nice surprise.... something you won't likely see at a big box store. Thanks guys!

Our family has become plant parents and the collection keeps growing. Thanks to Jackson's friendly and knowledgeable staff we were able to cross off one of our "bucket list" plants & get something cute for an outdoor planter. It's an experience to walk the greenhouse and see all the beautiful plants, pots, tools, and more.
