Highland Nursery - Saint Paul MN

My first visit to Highland Nursery was today. They carry a wide variety of plants, including some that are hard to find, and their prices are comparable to other greenhouses like Bachman’s and Malmborg’s. I was impressed by the overall selection. However, I found the layout confusing, perennials and annuals were mixed together, and shade and sun plants were sometimes grouped in the same areas. I needed help locating a specific plant, but the floor staff (mostly college-aged) seemed very busy. When I asked for assistance (twice), I was directed to general areas, which still left me searching through hundreds of plants. It felt like the staff were focused on watering and tending to plants and didn’t have much availability to help customers. With limited shade and temperatures around 90 degrees, I eventually left without finding what I came for, I did pick up some harder to find annuals so the trip was not a waste.

Family owned since 1947 with 3 Generations and it shows. They know their stuff and have passion for the business. Dawson helped educate me on a lot of plants, some that I even knew about, he just went next level education. 👏 Isabella helped protect them from the elements, she was upbeat and friendly. She also got me signed up for their Rewards program as well. They have a great selection even during the cold months, 2 floors, and a nice patio to add outside in the warm months. Huge! And gorgeous plants. They have basically everything you could think of, and the staff is very friendly as well. They also have labels that tell you what plants are cat safe! Will definitely come back again.

Huge selection of flowers, ferns, vegetables, and anything you need for your garden, including container gardens. The paths through the setting are very easy to navigate. The staff is extremely helpful. I would highly recommend it.

Greatest. Nursery. Ever! The staff are VERY knowledgeable and friendly! They can help with all your plant growing questions as well as recommendations! This place is HUGE! Vegtables, flowers, indoor plants, trees, bulbs, planters, annuals, perennials, and the list goes on.... If you are planting a garden, make sure you stop here!
