We had a lovely time here!! They have a large assortment of fruits and vegetables, so do make sure to explore every corner of the farm. I would check their website for more details, as me and my family did the same. The employees were very helpful, and made sure we knew the best path. For some of the fruits and vegetables a lot of them will be picked off from the front of the grove, so be sure to travel to the back to ensure you pick what you want. Their corn is especially tasty! Best of all, they allow you to taste test in the field. Just make sure not to eat too much, they are a family farm.
I have been coming to Lee Turkey Farm with my family from NYC since early 2000’s. Throughout the years, I have introduced many friends and family to this farm because they have an incredible variety of produce that keeps you coming back from Spring to Fall. They have a punch card that you have to purchase during your first visit of the season, and then they punch out a small discount for each listed produce you might come to pick. Your entry fee is applied to your purchase so you are incentivized to pick a good amount for each visit. Now, I am a mother with two little kids of my own and we make it a tradition to come fruit picking with the kids. I’ve even taught my 6 year old that this farm has THE BEST peaches and nectarines. I love it here. My family will not leave here without 2-3 giant bags of fruits and vegetables. My ONLY gripe that I’ve developed this year about Lee Turkey Farm is that there is ONE PARTICULAR WOMAN that has made each visit this year less enjoyable. I could not help but feel unwelcome when she approaches me and my family. I feel like a child being caught by an authority figure doing something wrong, when I actually have not. Unfortunately, I am relieved that I was not the ONLY person that felt attacked by this woman. I genuinely felt like there was a “look” about my family that made her feel like she needed to hover over us and “remind us” of the PYO rules amongst the produce. As I was entering the farm today (as soon as it opened), I already overheard three women walking out saying “Let’s just pay for these apples and get out of here. They’re not very welcoming here.” As we continued a few more steps going in the opposite direction of these women, I came across that same woman. The rest of the day, she drove past us multiple times making her rounds. Sometimes, she stopped to talk to patrons about the picnicking/snacking on produce policy. Other times, she turned her head the other way and kept driving. As the day progressed, I felt more and more frustrated at what I was witnessing. I am all for following rules and policies. But when these rules and policies only seem to apply to some patrons and not, I cannot help but feel like I’m being singled out. I still love Lee Turkey Farm and I still feel giddy from my haul from this visit, but I really hope that this feedback is taken to heart. It was not like this before, and today’s experience hearing other people sharing my sentiments compounded with my own experiences this summer have really made me reconsider my patronage here.
Overall good experience but 4* only coz they have an entry fee and you cannot drive up to the fields like we can do in other farms. They have an entree fee of 3$ per person. We went last week they had cucumber, aubergine, peaches, sweet nectarine. Apples and berries not yet ripe.
So glad to have this place in the neighborhood. Been there many times. Great produce and apple picking is always fun. Janet is a sweetheart. Ronny - haha, pretty surly but that's ok. Highly recommend.
Wonderful place to visit and pick your own fruits and vegetables when in season. Beautiful country farm. Super friendly staff.
