Growing Grounds - Bloomington IL

Today my friend and I took a trip from Champaign to Bloomington just to visit Growing Grounds and it was absolutely worth it! From the moment we walked in, the customer service was outstanding. Every employee greeted us with a smile, made friendly conversation, and offered help without hesitation. The entire staff was warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. The store itself is stunning filled with healthy, vibrant plants and beautifully curated home décor that’s both stylish and reasonably priced. Growing Grounds has definitely earned a loyal customer in me!

I recently visited Growing Grounds, and unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. I was looking forward to exploring what they had to offer, but I found the staff to be quite unhelpful and unapproachable. When I arrived, I had a few questions about the products, but the staff (including what seemed to be a manager?) seemed more interested in chatting about their weekend plans rather than assisting customers. I stood around for quite some time, hoping someone would offer help, but it felt like I was invisible. When I finally managed to get a staff member's attention, their responses seemed like they wanted to get rid of me and lacking any real assistance. It’s disappointing because I had heard great things about Growing Grounds, but the attitude of the staff really put a damper on my visit. Customer service is key, and in this case, it was sorely lacking. I left feeling frustrated and not inclined to return anytime soon.

One of the best options for Japanese Maples and Large trees that we have found. We've bought 5 trees from them and will buy more. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are better than most other nurseries in the area. They are about 30% cheaper than nurseries in Champaign area.

Very helpful staff & owner. They ordered soapwort....there were a couple us asking for it and there's still some available(attached photo is what the plant looks like when mature) Timing worked out & they were able to add it on the next order for us. If you don't see what youre looking for, ask them. Love this place and it's across from Highland golf course (photos attached)

Great assortment of annuals and shrubs and trees. we were looking for conifers and had great luck here. The staff is friendly and there seems to be plenty of them.
