Freed's Greenhouse & Nursery - Bridgeport WV

Amazing selection and fair prices. I feel strongly about supporting local businesses rather than a big box store. The customer service/interaction skills of some employees here leaves something to be desired. This is the 2nd year my family and I have shopped here for our garden plants, in what should be an enjoyable, fun learning experience. Today my 9 year old son was drawn to the wind chimes and naturally wanted to hear them...they are made to be heard. Granted, he tried them all and they are loud, but he was in no way trying to be rough or break them (we obviously would pay for them if they did get broken) and I was watching to be sure of this, while being aware and understanding he is a little boy. The lady at the counter was quick to be harsh with him and didn't seem to mind one bit to go straight to rude and unkind with him. I did speak to her. We had a similar experience here last year, and are left feeling scolded for just being a young kiddo simply excited about a beautiful garden center. It leaves what should have been an enjoyable experience, we get once per year, tainted and I will most likely visit a different establishment next year.

It's more expensive here, but the variety is unspeakably wonderful. If you're looking for unusual ornamentals, this is the place. It's good to know your botanicals and it's good to have advisors as well. They seem to know their stuff.

Visited Freed's Nursery this week. Loved the variety and huge selection of every type of plant and tree! Staff were wonderful. I am disabled and was guided through an area to an entrance into a particular greenhouse without a step. Will definitely put this on my list to return to!😇❤️

It's very early in the season, but I love browsing and looking at what they do have out. They have a greenhouse that has tropicals and various houseplants. I was after a shamrock and they had some. So, it was a successful venture for me.
