We really great time here to pick up strawberries. Very good price 0.50/ quart and strawberries so sweet and delicious. Plus owners/staffs here very nice and friendly. They also sell fresh onion. Definitely awesome place for family and friends activity.
It was cool evening an hour an a half before sunset. Three pints were picked and the total cost was $1.50. I did not expect to enjoy it as much as I did and maybe everything was just right but I highly recommend this place for a simple and delightful time out under the blue sky picking the ruby red berries that are so sweet and tasty!
We like to go here to pick strawberries at a better rate than buying them at the store. Its 0.50 cents a quart. They also sell onions but you can't pick those you just buy them at the front where you pay. The large ones are 1$
These strawberries are perfect! Sweet and JUICY, like biting into a BOTTLE of strawberry juice! I've never had a strawberry, filled with such intense flavour, overflow on me the way these do. You might ruin a shirt while digging in, but I can promise you wouldn't even care (it's not like you should wear couture to a strawberry farm). There are bugs and bees and, from whatever it may be, you're likely to feel a little itchy, but again, what can you expect? I almost gave it four stars cause it's hot as heck but that's unfair, obviously. Ice cold water is offered up at the front by the pay area, alongside their marvelous, bulbous, ridiculously large strawberry onions. Today, at the end of the season, was my first time going- although I understand my family has gone without me before. From my personal experience, there were many that looked really nice, but had over ripened & began to ooze under the scorching heat (seemingly 30 seconds before I found them). Some, completely obliterated by maggots or time. I should stress that you want to examine any piece of fruit you plan to pick before picking it, and again when you get home. Similarly enough, there were plenty of gems; given the height of the sun and it being the end of the season, they were mostly found hiding under the leaves of the plants. There were plenty who had not yet ripened at all, so, just because it's the end of the season, don't think you've lost out on the pickin's!! Some of the best ones I found, I felt better about leaving for someone else to come the next day and snatch, just because they would be absolutely perfect by then (and not now, for my recipe). By the end of my row, I was pushing 4 quarts of berries. Mind you, I had been chased by a bee for more than half the row... I didn't look back either, I had found enough strawberries there to have confidence that there would be even more strawberries in a row without a malicious bee. As for my family, who had gone last year at the beginning of the season, I'm under the impression that they filled their entire trunk with "perfect berries", even with so many still undergoing the perfecting process. They handed them out to family. Handed them out to the neighbors. Made smoothies, cakes, jams, cheesecakes, cookies and some more cakes, etc The dogs might have had some. Too many berries. There were tears. There are still frozen berries in our freezer that they are too attached to, to just throw away (it's been a years guys, give it up. There are new berries.) Aaaannnyyyyyway, I had a blast here, even in the heat, and in hindsight, I wish I had done some competitive picking because the venue was perfect for such an occasion. For leisure or sport, I'd be coming here every year- maybe even twice. The owners were real nice. AND I ALMOST FORGOT THE BEST PART- these bad boys are only .50 a quart.
This is my families fifth generation picking berries at the same farm. Great memories and lots of fun. The staff there is great!!! For young and old.
