Reviews
I have volunteered at Fall Harvest and support them financially. My words. This review is about the Fall Harvest event at Farm in the Dell of Moorhead, held towards the end of September. An outing for families and folks of all abilities to become acquainted with Farm in the Dell (to provide meaningful work for special needs people), view their gardens of produce sold in CSA shares and farmers markets, play games such as plinko or spin the wheel, maybe launch veggies from a 'slingshot', purchase food, soft drinks, baked goods, meet up with family or friends, buy fresh produce, pumpkins, decorative corn stalks, etc. This year they had a barrel train, a maze to negotiate blind folded or in a wheelchair to experience the difficulty a disability can bring, but not necessarily prevent one from living life. Games change from year to year to give variety. They use a polebarn for many of the games, food and produce sales, live music, dining and socializing. 'Gravel' (class 5 road material) type of base is in the polebarn and in front of it. It is a simple and fun get away for an afternoon in the country. Free parking and admittance. Wheelchairs welcome. {9/2019}
We visited for their Farm Festival. They had a ton of pumpkins (also more outside the greenhouse pictured). They had a good selection of different shapes, colors, and sizes, with prices ranging from 50 cents to $10 for the largest ones. Beautiful vegetables for a great price, we got a bunch of carrots, some red potatoes and tomatoes for $6. I've already eaten one of the tomatoes and it was delicious - it actually tastes like a tomato instead of the watery, flavorless ones at the store. Love their mission, and everyone we spoke with and encountered was super nice, they are clearly passionate and proud of the work they do on the farm. We'll be back next year for our pumpkins & produce.
Went to get pumpkins last night and they had a great selection at great prices! Plus it's locally grown so it all stays here, no corporations involved. There's plenty of reasons why we keep coming back!
Farm to Table event was a blast! Great mission and great food!
Great organization. Friendly staff and volunteers. Despite the drought they are trying to get rid of melons, tomatoes, corn that will be spoiling soon.
