Cedar Circle Farm is my happy place. It’s actually my favorite place in Vermont. There are greenhouses full of plants, hanging plants, all kinds of flower pots and containers. There is a farm stand with an excellent selection of vegetables, most of them grown right there, varied, yummy and creative “grab and go” take out, frozen ready to cook meals and frozen meats, baked goods, and a small and very interesting grocery selection, including artisan cheese. As far as I’m concerned, the best thing of all is Hello Café, which is a charming coffee bar with excellent espresso drinks and tea, in a shed behind the farm stand. On Saturday and Sunday, Hello Cafe has breakfast sandwiches and breakfast burritos. This year, I have a new habit of going and getting a cappuccino and maybe a sandwich too, and sitting in an Adirondack chair and reading a book or writing. There are also picnic benches, some under a tent, others in the shade, and still others in full sun. Take your pick. And don’t forget that in season, there are pick-your-own flowers and pick your own blueberries. There are two extremely clean Porta Johns. One is so big I believe it must be wheelchair accessible (call them and check, please) and a handwashing station with a foot pump over by the coffee bar. The staff is lovely, the view divine, and everything they sell is organic. Lots of local people will tell you the place is too expensive, but they didn’t raise their prices this year and everyone else did, so at this point their takeout, sandwich, salad and coffee prices are pretty much on par with everyone else. The difference is the food could not be fresher, it was grown and cooked from scratch right there, and it is much healthier, and often much more interesting, than most other prepared food in Orange County.
We had a nice picnic at the farm. The prices in the coffee shop were affordable, all greenhouses were open for flower shopping. The fields for pick your own produce will open mid summer and we can’t wait to come back. Great times!
We did the pick your own wedding flowers package at Cedar Circle for our wedding and it was one of the best choices we made for our wedding day! The team at Cedar Circle was phenomenal - they had VIP parking and a cute welcome sign to greet us when we arrived, gave us the lowdown on how to tackle the flower patches, and guided us every step of the way. We had our own little porch attached to one of their barns to arrange our centerpieces while listening to great music and enjoying a free beverage from their local cafe. They arranged my bridal bouquet and our boutonnieres and are truly so talented. They stored and delivered our flowers in a timely manner, and we got so many compliments! It was fun to be able to respond, "we picked them ourselves!" We live nearby and bike up to the farm stand almost every weekend, and are so grateful for this community gem!
October 2023: Hello Cafe is a great & relaxing spot to grab a coffee & scone, sit at one of the many picnic tables, watch the bees pollinate the flowers, and gaze over the fields. Excellent local organic produce.
I did u-pick event flowers through Cedar Circle for my wedding. The team was fantastic - thank you Kestrel and Muriel! Flower picking was so much fun and incredibly affordable. The Cedar Circle team gave us tips for cutting and arranging and we were so excited with how it came together. If you are getting married near Cedar Circle, highly recommend!
