Caras Nursery and Landscape - Missoula MT

Great local nursery with excellent knowledge. Not 5 stars because once again they do everything possible to take shortcuts with Caras bucks and coupons. Spent $117 and used a $20 coupon. Got 3 Cara’s bucks, not 9. Last year I used Caras bucks and spent $180 using 30 Cara’s bucks to make it $150. Returned a $17 item and they gave me back $10 saying Cara’s bucks were used. Love this place, but they’re already more expensive than box stores. We try to always support local, but not sure it’s worth spending more $$ for everything to constantly be short changed at every corner.

Caras Nursery is Missoula's most amazing local nursery run Bill Caras and his knowledgeable and friendly Staff. I absolutely love shopping here. Prepare to be here at least an hour because the nursery is situated on many acres. I highly recommend you buy from here because the knowledge of customer service exceeds the benchmark and the friendly and professional guidance you will receive on your visit is Legendary! I even found a coffee plant at CARAS!

They have everything under the sun here, but it’s all so, so expensive. I’d say that quality is worth the price but there were quite a few tragically neglected plants. It seems like they need more staff for their enormous collection of plants, many of which require special care. I did discover that the “jade plant” I’d been gifted was actually a Portulacaria afra aka spekboom aka elephant bush. A lot of plants are mislabeled, though, which led to my very first houseplant death 😢. Oh well.

Very knowledgeable staff. Unfortunately, we didn’t find the Apricot tree we were hunting for, but scored on a “Sweet Cherry Pie” tree which is supposed to be a little sweeter than the Montmorency sour cherry. Onions were packed for small gardens and I was looking for more in a flat/bulk. They have a great selection of garden veggies and flowers! Caras is one of Missoula’s top go-to Nurseries! Love the selection at Cara's. I think the best part is that their staff can help you with all kinds of garden questions. The Cara's bucks are a plus too. Great place!
