Austin's Backyard Garden - Lakeland FL

Went here on with some friends and my lady, and we had a wonderful time. You can build your own terrarium from top to bottom. You can choose your container, sand, rocks, plants, decorations, and isopods. Then you place it all yourself, designing it how you like, being guided, and having any questions answered along the way. There's a good selection of different plants, rocks, and sand of various colors, as well as tools to make sure you get the perfect look you want. Austin is super knowledgeable, friendly, and happy to help. It was a great time and definitely something fun to do with a group.

Austin was amazing! His shop and garden is absolutely beautiful and my wife and I had an amazing time. 10/10 absolutely go build your terrarium if you're in Lakeland!!

The first major plus about Austin’s backyard is that when you arrive, there is a sweet older gentlemen to greet you and show you around. When you walk to the “backyard” you are overcome with such joy at the different plants he has!! I kept picking them up saying, “I want this one. No this one.” The icing on the cake was the plant room inside!!! A beautifully displayed selection of unique plants! I didn’t have enough hands for all of the plants I purchased!! If you haven’t been, go!! Austin is such a kind human and you should check him out on instagram!

I brought my husband here on a date. Andrew and his partner, Anna, were absolute amazing people to sit and work with. My husband and I were able to get creative with our terrariums and really put our heart in to it. We were able to talk through the whole experience together and ultimately bond over common interests. I plan to bring my in laws back here for sure. I will be recommending this to anyone in the Lakeland area or even planning to visit. This was so much fun. Edit (It’s even worse I put Andrew because I even typed in Austin’s Backyard Garden to find it and leave a review 💀 I guess the alcohol hit at the most impromptu time. Sorry Austin!!)

Austin's has a small selection of some really awesome plants. The white pot is from Dixieland Relics. Karen was so fun and helpful. Her shop was spotless and her prices were great. Don't forget to check out "The Shop Across the Street" when you leave.
